I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 10 years. I graduated from Lesley
University in 1997 and hold a license as a mental health counselor in the state of Massachusetts. Over the past eight years, I have incorporated different holistic modalities into my therapeutic approach. I started practicing meditation at a Holistic Center in Burlington, VT. I attended Thic Nhat Hanh's retreat on mindfulness meditation in 1998 at the University of Vermont, on The Full Awareness of Breath. My practice in prayer and meditation led me to work for Catholic Charities in an outpatient clinic working with adults who suffered from an array of disorders, primarily post-traumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and depression. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, both home-based and outpatient. I utilize the same holistic approach with more emphasis on their ability to use play therapy and art therapy to enhance their internal and external expression of feelings. This process helps create overall peace of mind, understanding and balance to their lives.
